An average annual
temperature of 35.7 degrees Fahrenheit has not chilled the
enthusiasm of the creators of this 11 acre garden including
480 species of plants, 92 of which are native. A perennial
garden, an herb garden, a rock garden and a wildflower trail
all grace this site. Future plans include a rose garden,
children’s garden, rock garden and more nature trails.

The Georgeson Botanical
Garden conducts a research program developing and testing
plants in the subarctic North. The Gardens on the site include
a Children's Garden, an herb garden, shade and water gardens,
perennial and ornamental test gardens, demonstration and
cutting gardens, a spring color and low maintenance garden, a
native plant garden, a demonstration windbreak and a boreal
forest nature trail. A memorial garden is under construction.

This commercial nursery features stream-side gardens and
pools, with azaleas, rhododendrons, Japanese maples, Devil’s
Club and Elderberry shrubs, a scenic overlook, as well as
acres of pristine rainforest.
