This 25 acre campus arboretum displays 100 species of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Antelope Park and Sunken Gardens: 23rd and N Street, Lincoln, NE (402)434-5335.
The colorful gardens of this city park include landscaped flower-covered terraces around fountains.

 Arbor Lodge: Arbor Lodge Historical Park, 2300 Second Avenue, Box 15, Nebraska City, NE 68410 (402)873-7222.
 The 52 room neo-classical manner is the former home of the man who created Arbor Day (J. Sterling Morton). His lovely estate includes an Arboretum (65 acres featuring 250 species of trees and shrubs with 13 state champion trees), an Italian Terrace Garden (with roses and other flowers, a sundial and a pergola), and a Prairie Plants Garden (displaying native ornamental grasses and wildflowers).

 Arboretum at Maskenthine Lake State Recreation Area: 10 miles east of Norfolk, Stanton, NE (402)371-7313 .
This 20 acre arboretum is a collection of native and exotic tree species planted in a natural arrangement and includes a terraced native plants display garden. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Betty Ford Rose Garden: Gerald Ford Birthplace, 32nd Street and Woolworth Ave., Omaha, NE 68105 (402)444-5955.
A lovely garden with roses, perennials and an extensive pergola graces the birthplace of our 38th President.

 Clemmons Park Arboretum: 16th and Garden City Road, Fremont, NE (402)727-2810.
 The labeled collection in this 6 acre arboretum includes more than 100 species of trees, with special collections of oaks, maples, crab apples and evergreens arranged along sidewalks and walking trails. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliated site.

 Concordia University Arboretum: 800 N. Columbia Avenue, Concordia University, Seward, NE (402)643-7490.
This campus arboretum features labeled trees and works of sculpture and an oriental reflecting pool.

 D. A. Murphy Panhandle Arboretum: University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center, Highway 71 (1 mile north of Scottsbluff, Scottsbluff, NE 69361(308)632-1244.
This 40 acre arboretum offers display and research areas, including the David Nuland Ground Cover Collection, the Trails West Iris Collection, the Diana Harms Cottonwood Collection, the Panhandle Prairie Transition site, Spruce Row, Honeylocust Park, the Hillside (xeriscape gardening), the Austrian Pine Parkway, the Olive Grove, the Pine Forest, Scotch Pine Mountain, Juniper Hill and Linden Lane. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Gilman Park Arboretum: East Main Street and North Mill Street, Pierce, NE 68767 (402)329-4873.
A 1.2 mile woodchip path meanders through 14 acres surrounding Bill Cox Memorial Lake displaying 200 labeled varieties of trees and shrubs among the 506 woody plants in the arboretum.

 Girls and Boys Town AARS Constitution Rose Garden and Garden of the Bible: Father Flanagan's Boys Home, Boys Town, NE 68010 (402)498-1900 or 1-800-989-0000.
An extensive All-America Rose Selections test garden, located at the Father Flanagan House, displays over 1,500 rose bushes in 48 beds. The 3 acre Garden of the Bible features plants mentioned in the Bible arranged along a 1/5 mile walkway. Both gardens are maintained by Boys Town children.

 

 Glenn Viehmeyer Arboretum: UNL West Central Research and Extension Center, South Highway 83 and State Farm Road, North Platte, NE 69101 (308)696-6740.
This research and education center exhibits over 100 species of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and grasses.

 Hans Burchardt Arboretum: Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area, 12000 West Branched Oak Road, (402) 783-3400 (4 miles west of Raymond, 3 miles northeast of Malcolm), Raymond, NE 68428-9728 (402) 783-3400.
The Parks and Game Commission has established an arboretum with 100 species of trees and shrubs within this state recreation area.  The Arboretum is located near Lieber's Point and Area 6.

 Henry Doorly Zoo: 3701 South 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68107 (402) 733-8401.
This remarkable zoo, situated on 130 woodland acres, displays 13 major animal habitats and many smaller exhibits and is home to 18,000 animals of 629 species including a Komodo Dragon, pot-bellied seahorses, and trained gorillas.

 Itha T. Krumme Memorial Arboretum: West 25th and Baldwin-Koso Parkway, Falls City, NE 68355 (402)245-4188.
This 2 acre arboretum showcases plants native to Nebraska including such species as paw paw, shagbark hickory, currant and prairie grasses and wildflowers.

 Joshua C. Turner Arboretum: Union College, 3800 South 48th Street, Lincoln, NE 68506-4300 (402)486-2536.
On this campus of Union College, this young but growing arboretum displays more than 100 different trees and shrubs. Future plans envision gardens such as a prayer garden and a prairie garden. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha’s Botanical Center:  100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE 68108 (402)346-4002.
This 75 acre garden includes a 4 acre arboretum, a Rose Garden (2,000 plants), a Shade Hosta Garden, a spring flowering walk, a Children's Garden, and Herb Garden. A 6 acre Japanese Garden is planned, as are a perennial species garden, a formal pedestrian promenade, an English walled garden and more.

 Lincoln Children's Zoo and Botanical Garden: 1222 S. 27th Street, Lincoln, NE 68502 (402)475-6741.
The zoo is divided into four different habitats: grassland, desert, forest, and inland waterway that are home to 300 animals representing 95 species. In addition, 400 species of plants are showcased throughout the grounds and in special displays including a water plant exhibit, a children's garden, a butterfly garden, the ReZOOvenation Garden, an herb garden, a forest walk, and a native plants display.

This arboretum, located at a mental health center, is maintained and improved by patients as a therapeutic (and public-spirited!) endeavor. 300 species of woody plants are displayed, making it one of the largest collections in the state.

 Living Memorial Gardens: Legion Park, 11th and Toledo, Sidney, NE 69162 (308)254-5851(Chamber of Commerce).
An old swimming pool was transformed into this terraced sunken garden as a memorial to veterans and another garden is in the shape of a map of the United States. The park includes a 141 foot flag pole and a proportionately large American flag.

 Luther Hormel Memorial Park: 925 N. Broad Street, Fremont, NE 68025 (402)727-2810.
This 167 acre arboretum, situated in a flood plain forest on alluvial terraces of the Platte River, displays 500 varieties of trees and shrubs.

 Memorial Park Rose Garden: Omaha City Parks Department, 56th and Underwood Avenue, Omaha, NE 68132 (402)444-5900.
This city park, honoring America's veterans, displays an All-America Rose Selections accredited rose garden.

 Museum of the Fur Trade: 6321Highway 20 (3 miles east of Chadron), Chadron, NE 69337 (308)432-3843.
This excellent museum displays extensive and priceless items from the North American fur trade, a reconstructed 1837 trading post, and a Native American garden.

Horticulture students are involved in all aspects of designing, installing and maintaining plantings on this campus arboretum.

 Northeast Arboretum: Haskell Agricultural Laboratory, 57905 866 Road, Concord, NE 68728 (402) 584-2234.
This arboretum, part of an agricultural research center, evaluates trees and shrubs for suitability to northeast Nebraska conditions, including trees that serve as snow-fences. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Railside Green Arboretum: 921 A Street, Schuyler, NE (402)352-8887.
Located at the site of an old rail siding in downtown Schuyler, this 2.7 acre arboretum displays 22 over-story trees, 18 under-story trees, 70 evergreens, 254 shrubs and three varieties of native shrubs. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 Sallows Conservatory and Arboretum/Sunken Gardens: Central Park, 11th and Niobrara, Alliance, NE 69301 (308)762-2385.
The conservatory displays tropical and subtropical plants while the arboretum exhibits and promotes plants that will thrive in the western Nebraska climate. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 State Fair Park Arboretum: Nebraska State Board of Agriculture, 17th and Holdrege Streets, P.O. Box 81223, Lincoln, NE 68501 (402)473-5371.
Site of the Nebraska State Fair, the fair grounds also showcase an arboretum featuring a 1/2 acre Display Garden with over 400 varieties of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses and wildflowers as well as the Heritage Village, the Native Plants Display and the Stair Steps annuals display. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

The arboretum includes a windmill and mill pond beside a small lake as well as flower gardens, shrubs and trees.

The Arboretum's mission is to improve the landscape environment of the 19-acre Taylor Park. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

The campus is an arboretum, the "Campus of a Thousand Oaks".  A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.

 University of Nebraska-Lincoln Botanical Garden & Arboretum: City Campus: 14th and "R" Streets, East Campus: 35th and Holdrege Streets, Lincoln, NE 68588-0609 (402)472-2679.
 The City Campus Gardens include the Andrews and Burnett Gardens (perennials), the Cather Garden (native wildflowers, grasses, trees and shrubs), the Donaldson Garden (exotic trees, conifers and oaks), the Love Garden (trees, shrubs, and perennials at the campus entrance), and the Sheldon Garden (contemporary sculpture against a backdrop of mature trees, water gardens and native plant displays). The East Campus Gardens include the Maxwell Arboretum (5 acres of five acres displaying 420 varieties of native and exotic species of plants with special collections of hosta and lilacs), the Fleming Slope (perennials), the Magdaline Pfister Appreciation Iris Garden, the Old Mall (trees and shrubs), and The Porch and Old Rose Garden, and the Yeutter Garden (shrubs, perennials and rock plantings). The campus arboretum includes an herb garden, a nature center, the Wildcat Fitness Trail (through the Prairie Area, the Ecological Study Area and the Nursery and Propagation Area), and the Willow Bowl Trail through the Campus. A Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate.
